International Week 2019
College of The Albemarle (COA) celebrated International Week March 11 to 15, 2019. International students at the Dare County and the Elizabeth City Campuses prepared foods from their home countries and shared the history of those dishes with fellow students.
Able Dodo and George Klimenko, students at COA – Elizabeth City, offered samplings of traditional dishes to students in the Dolphins Den. Dodo is originally from the Ivory Coast. He is working toward an Associate in Science degree and serves as Public Information Officer with the Student Government Association. George Klimenko is originally from Russia and is a second-year student at COA. He is also pursuing an Associate in Science degree.
International students at COA – Dare provided a variety of traditional foods representing their native countries. A collection of countries was highlighted each day.
What a great week to be sampled by all who came to the 2019 International Week here at the Dare County Campus. International students from Italy, Montenegro, Ukraine, Brazil, Jamaica, Romania, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Macedonia, Jordan, Vietnam and the U.S. showcased tasty treats from their home country. They were delighted to share information on their home countries, as well as sing their National Anthem.
