STEM Outreach
In 2020, College of the Albemarle (COA) launched a Community STEM Outreach program in partnership with the NC Bionetwork. This is a joint endeavor between COA’s Mathematics and Engineering department and Natural Science department.
The outreach program is designed to engage children and young adults in our service area through a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) projects such as Community Science Night and Virtual STEM Night. These events use interactive activities to engage children and young adults in STEM-related topics while planting the seed in STEM education and careers.

Virtual STEM Night
The faculty at COA will be hosting Virtual STEM Night the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Although STEM Nights are geared towards elementary school-aged children, these virtual events are fun for the whole family. Unable to attend live? We’ll also be posting links to recordings of our events.
