College of The Albemarle (COA) will hold its first 2023-2024 “COA Star Nights, An Evening Under the Stars,” on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. at COA – Dare, 205 Highway 64 S, Manteo. The event will take place in the amphitheater.
COA Star Nights are fun and educational events featuring astronomy activities for all ages. View the craters of the Moon live through various telescopes. Take a guided tour of the constellations and learn about the latest findings in astronomy.
“College of The Albemarle is excited to offer this free family-friendly event to our communities,” shared Lisa Meads, COA Dean of Arts and Sciences. “We had an amazing turnout at last year’s events and we are excited to bring new and exciting activities that inspire STEM education and related careers in our community. Holding the event at all four COA campuses is a great way to strengthen our relationships with families throughout our service area.”
Please visit COA – Dare on September 18th to enjoy a range of astronomy-themed activities. This is a public event and all are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you are unable to attend in September, we have three more events scheduled for 2023-2024. “COA Star Nights, an Evening Under the Stars,” will also be held on October 20, 2023, at COA – Currituck; March 15, 2024, at COA – Elizabeth City; and April 12, 2024, at COA – Edenton-Chowan.
