“Tidelands” explores themes of ghost forests, estuaries and climate change, capturing the evolving nature of coastal landscapes. Edwards, a painter and multimedia artist, draws inspiration from the environment, focusing on the shifting shorelines of North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Carolina University and a Master of Fine Arts from the Maine College of Art & Design. Edwards also serves as a workforce development and career readiness coordinator at College of The Albemarle. Her home and studio are nestled near the shoreline of Roanoke Island.

An artist’s reception will be held Tuesday, March 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m., and is open to the public. The exhibition will remain on display through Wednesday, April 9, with gallery hours Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The work for ‘Tidelands’ examines the changing nature of our shorelines and the increasing presence of ghost forests,” Edwards said. “Through a combination of sculptural and two-dimensional imagery, my goal is to capture the beauty of these marshy landscapes while sparking conversation about the environmental challenges they face.”
