Edenton, N.C. – College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Culinary Arts Program, located at COA – Edenton – Chowan, has a freshly renovated ECU Health – Chowan Hospital Culinary Classroom and Lab. The recent renovations include restaurant-style seating, carpet, fresh paint and branding, ceiling tiles, a server station, technology for the front and back of the house, and storage. One wall in the dining area boasts the beautiful COA logomark. Another wall painted purple with the ECU Health logo affixed, is in recognition and gratitude for their support of the renovations. “These renovations provide an excellent working culinary environment for our students,” said Leslie Lippincott, COA Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Culinary Arts. “COA students now have a beautiful classroom and culinary lab to master their food preparation, presentation and service skills. I am extremely excited to have this wonderful new space.”

The Edenton-Chowan Chamber of Commerce held a Business After Hours event at COA – Edenton-Chowan in the culinary arts building on Thursday, January 25, 2024, revealing the renovations. The event was catered by COA Culinary Arts students and well attended by the community and COA faculty and staff.
“We appreciate College of The Albemarle hosting Business After Hours, and allowing the Chamber to showcase the newly renovated space. It’s just lovely,” said Susan Creed, Executive Director, Edenton-Chowan Chamber of Commerce. “As always, Chef Lippincott and her students did an amazing job, providing delicious food and hospitality.”
