Beginning Watercolor - PrinciplesTry watercolor for the first time or brush up on your techniques(pun intended!) Introduction to materials, drawing, and designprinciples will be the focus of this six-week class inwatercolor. This course is designed to teach students to drivetractor-trailers and trucks. The program willprepare the prospective driver to understandsafety, driver responsibility, and also the lawsand regulations governing the motor carrierindustry.

This course provides instruction on theprinciples and practices of welding. Coursecontent will be specific to a particular weldingprocess such as SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG). Uponcompletion, students willhave the knowledge basefor various industry specifi certifications.

Starting with safety guidelines, the course content will bespecific to SMAW (stick) with an introduction to GMAW (mig) andFCAW (flux-core) welding. Students will participate inquestion-answer sessions and hands-on to gain basic knowledge inthe setup and operation of various power sources that operatethese processes. Upon completion, students will have a basicknowledge of various industry standards and certifications.Personal items required for Welding program include a weldinghelmet (auto darkening is a plus), safety glasses, ear plugs, tipcleaners, welding jacket with leather sleeves, steel-toed leatherboots (with high sides), welding gloves. Kits can be purchasedthrough COA's bookstore. This class will run concurrently withAdvanced Welding.
