The lead instructor for the EMDeducational program must be a NC credentialedLevel I EMS Instructor at the EMD level as definedin the rules of the North Carolina Medical CareCommission. Student prerequisites: high schooldiploma or GED; or successful completion of anexamination assessing basic reading comprehensionskill at a minimum 10th grade level. Although notrequired, a minimum of one year of experience inan emergency communications center, or completionof a recognized basic telecommunicationseducational program consisting of a minimum of 40hours is preferred.
